NEIE has always offered emergency response services to its existing customer base to assist with the accidental release of chemicals and petroleum products, or other materials that possessed a potential threat to the environment. This service has included spill containment, removal, restoration, material management and eventual disposal.
An example of our former emergency response service capabilities was our Emergency and Rapid Response Services (ERRS) contract with the USEPA. NEIE was the Prime contractor for the USEPA ERRS contract in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
The threat of an influenza pandemic is likely to be with us for some time, as new strains will continue to evolve and travel quickly through the new global economy. In the absence of vaccines or effective treatments, nonpharmacological interventions such as hygiene, decontamination, social distancing, and the use of respirators and medical masks must be implemented as secondary means of preventing or slowing transmission.
In order to protect our food supply and general population, depopulation and disposal of animals and livestock has been an effective means of preventing the transmission of the various strains of disease. NEIE, Inc. uses humane destruction, decontamination and proven disposal methods as effective ways of controlling the spread of pandemics.
